📋 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why do I see a "Hardware Incompatible" screen on launch?
A: Folklore Weather uses high-resolution cinematic artwork, heavy real-time particle rendering, and on-device AI. Because of this, it requires a device with at least 4GB of RAM (iPhone 11 or newer). Older devices like the iPhone XR or iPhone X do not meet the minimum hardware requirements.
Q: How do I change the atmospheric theme?
A: Tap the "Settings" tab at the top of the dashboard. Under "Background Theme", you can either choose "System" (which automatically assigns themes based on live weather) or lock in a specific Mythic theme like the Wendigo or La Llorona.
Q: Why am I hearing eerie sounds instead of wind when the sky is clear?
A: Every Mythic theme has a signature ambient soundscape. If it is raining or storming, you will always hear the intense weather. But when the skies clear, the app falls back to your selected theme's signature aura (such as an eerie ghost drone or crackling vampire fire).
Q: Is my Journal or AI data sent to the cloud?
A: Absolutely not. Your location is securely used to fetch weather, but all "Atmospheric Synthesis" insights are generated using a 100% on-device AI model. Your journal entries never leave your phone.
Q: Where can I read the Lore for a theme?
A: On the main weather dashboard, tap the glass "LORE" button on the right side. This will pull up a scrollable tray detailing the origins, warnings, and history of the entity currently haunting your screen.
